BATON ROUGE, La., July 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Marucci Sports and presenting sponsor PITCH, FOX’s upcoming baseball drama series, will host the 7th Annual All-Star Party on Monday, July 11, in downtown San Diego.
Professional baseball all-stars and Marucci partners Anthony Rizzo, Buster Posey and David Ortiz are expected to attend, along with several other Big League players and VIP guests.
“We’re incredibly excited to host our 7th Annual All-Star party this year in downtown San Diego,” said Marucci CEO and Co-Founder Kurt Ainsworth. “We look forward to this event every year as a way to congratulate and say thank you to our Big League partners and friends.”
PITCH, a production of 20th Century Fox Television, is the presenting sponsor at this year’s event. The upcoming series, from executive producers Dan Fogelman (“Cars,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”) and Rick Singer (“Younger,” “American Dad”), tells the dramatic and inspirational story of a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play professional baseball. The series premieres Thursday, Sept. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
“We’re honored to have FOX and its new drama series, PITCH, as this year’s presenting sponsor,” Ainsworth said. “The story is incredibly inspiring and falls directly in line with Marucci’s mission to grow and honor the game of baseball.”
The party will be held Monday, July 11, following the Home Run Derby, and is an invitation-only event. ZEISS, an internationally leading technology enterprise operating in the optics and optoelectronics industries, will also be a sponsor of the event.
Based in Baton Rouge, LA, Marucci was founded by two former professional baseball players and their athletic trainer who began handcrafting bats from their garage. Fast forward 10 years, and that dedication to quality and understanding of players’ needs has turned the company into an all-American success story with Marucci being the No. 1 bat in the Big Leagues. Today, Marucci makes wood and aluminum bats, batting gloves, protective gear and other baseball and softball accessories. Star players including Albert Pujols, Chase Utley, David Ortiz, José Bautista and Andrew McCutchen invest their hard-earned money and time to advise Marucci on product design and test its products.
