This Christmas, DHgate.com sent a team to Cebu City, the Philippines, to visit a place called Cogon Learning Center. Cogon Learning Center is an education operation for impoverished children who do not have the privilege to go to school. Class in Make-Shift Huts
“We started supporting Cogon Learning Center 4 years ago. It is a make-shift hut where they conduct classes for impoverished children from families working in the landfill area. Teachers are church volunteers and provide only 4 subjects: math, reading, science, and values and guidance. Since we started supporting them, there have been more than 50 students that have successfully entered public school and have been kept off the streets. Every year, we provide them with school and art supplies, and classroom furniture and fixtures,” said Stephanie Canlas, DHgate Program Director from ePerformax.
