Standard Life Investments to build US sales team following key appointment

Standard Life Investments, the global fund manager, today announced its intention to create a US institutional sales team with the appointment of Steven Kuhn as Head of Institutional Sales and Client Services (USA). Steven was previously Director of Institutional Sales at Lee Munder Capital Management in Boston.

Reporting to James Aird, Investment Director – Strategic Development, Steven will have responsibility for building relationships with key consultants and developing business from corporate and public pension funds as well as endowments, foundations and Taft-Hartley plans. He joins the company on the 19th March.

Commenting on the appointment, James Aird said:

We are delighted to secure someone of Steven’s calibre to lead our efforts in the US. He brings with him an outstanding sales track record and will be responsible for building up a strong sales team over the long term.

We have increasingly attractive propositions in private equity, global equity, real estate and absolute return strategies. I’m confident that our expertise in these ‘category killer’ areas will prove popular with US investors.”
